This first season hurtles thru Vince’s early days as a well-known face, seeing the guys face an awful review in Variety and figure out whether or not to commit to a ‘Die Hard In Disneyland’ project that Colin Farrell’s eyeing. The Hollywood inside-jokes come thick and fast, many delivered by way of self-spoofing stars (the Gary Busey episode, Busey And The Beach, is a doozy, while Val Kilmer rocks out as the ultimate stoner). Jeremy Piven, who constantly becomes out high-quality, low-quantity roles and used to be earlier best recognized for being John Cusack’s quality mate in Grosse Pointe Blank, is mesmerizing as Ari, Vince’s shark-like but impossible-to-hate agent, hurling perfectly crafted put-downs as if he’s having the time of his life. The vibe is contagious.
