In Season 2, Mad Men leaps ahead greater than a year from the point (it starts at the beginning of 1962) and it leaves many plot factors (such as what, exactly, passed off to Peggy’s baby) dangling for the whole season. This flawlessly displays the concept that the writers of Mad Men are relaxed with sacrificing the conventional plot shape in favor of creating a significant story for their characters. The scenario with Peggy, and with the stunning function reversal in Don and Betty’s marriage, are intended to be things that we dwell on, now not matter that we anticipate an instantaneous resolution to.
