The Japanese animated fantasy film is written and directed by Hyao Miyazaki and is based on Eiko Kadono’s novel by the same name. The movie features the voices of Minami Takayama, Rei Sakuma and Kappei Yamguchi.
Kiki is a thirteen year old witch who goes to spend a year alone by the seaside to gain the magical powers of witches. Her talking cat accompanies her in the trip and as she learns the art of controlling her broomstick she comes back and starts a delivery service. But right after the acquisition of this art she starts questioning her abilities that leads to her losing her powers. She must overcome her self-doubts and regain her power as soon as possible.
