Lester Burnham has a mid-life crisis here. He revolts against Carolyn, his bitch-on-wheels wife, and Jane, his self-absorbed, uncaring daughter. He meets Jane’s friend Angela after attending a cheerleader competition at Jane’s high school, with whom he develops an infatuation and decides he is going to turn around his life. To work at a fast-food restaurant, he quits his high paid job and chooses to relive his 20s. The effect his decisions have on those around him shifts and not for the better.
