The movie is based on Joyce Maynard’s 2009 novel by the same name. The movie is written and directed by Jason Reitman. The movie features Kate Winslet, Josh Brolin, Gattlin Griffith, and Tobey Maguire.
The movie is set in 1987, Adele Wheeler is a single mother living with her thirteen-year-old son in a small rural home. When both mother and son had gone shopping they encounter a man with blood all over his body. The man asks for their help. With some reluctance, the mother and the son take him to their house and later realize the man is actually convicted who has run away.
