Rocky Balboa is a struggling boxer who has struggled to make it big. Despite his true talent and his refusal to admit defeat, he was never given the time of day by his friends and his mentor, Micky. When Rocky’s home town meets Apollo Creed, the Heavyweight World Champion, calling for a lesser man to fight, Apollo selects him based on his nickname, ‘The Italian Stallion.’ Rocky trains harder than he thought was possible with his shot at glory in front of him in order to win his own self-respect and go the distance.
