The Algiers National Liberation Front shot several French policemen in 1954, sparking a campaign for their country’s independence; in return, the Chief of Police planted a bomb in the Arab quarter, killing many people. The NLF is sending three women to two bars with explosives, and the Air France office in the European Quarter is killing several people. Under the command of the abusive Colonel Mathieu, the French government sends out military forces that do not value human rights and use torture to kill the NLF command. In 1962, their intended independence was eventually achieved by the Algerians.
