The American drama film is directed by George Tilman Jr. and is based on Angie Thomas’s 2017 young adult novel by the same name. The movie features Amandla Stenberg, Regina Hall, Russell Hornsby, KJ Apa, Sabrina Carpenter, Common, and Anthony Mackie.
Starr Carter a prep school student juggles her life through her poor black neighborhood and her mostly white rich school. But one day her life shatters when her best friend is shot by a white police officer. She feels pressurised by her community and will now have to find a space for her voice.
