“Ramen Teh” (also known as “Ramen Shop” or “Ramen Teh: Soul of a Bowl”) is a 2018 Singaporean-Japanese-French drama film Directed by Eric Khoo. The movie combines elements of food, family, and cultural heritage in its storytelling.
The story follows Masato (played by Takumi Saito), a young Japanese ramen chef who embarks on a journey to Singapore to discover more about his late mother’s past. Through her diaries and the memories of those who knew her, Masato learns about his mother’s life and experiences in Singapore during World War II and the impact of cultural exchange on her life.
