“I Saw the Devil” is a 2010 South Korean psychological thriller film Directed by Kim Jee-woon. The movie stars Lee Byung-hun as Kim Soo-hyun, a highly skilled National Intelligence Service agent, and Choi Min-sik as Jang Kyung-chul, a sadistic and vicious serial killer.
The film follows Kim Soo-hyun’s quest for revenge after his fiancée is brutally murdered by Jang Kyung-chul. Instead of simply apprehending the killer, Kim decides to take matters into his own hands and embarks on a relentless pursuit to track down and torment Jang in a cat-and-mouse game.
As Kim Soo-hyun catches up with Jang Kyung-chul, he exacts a brutal and sadistic revenge on the killer, subjecting him to the same kind of torment that Jang inflicted on his victims. The film explores the dark and morally ambiguous nature of vengeance and the psychological toll it takes on both the avenger and the perpetrator.
