The story opens with a preteen lady lying on the core of the road having matches and no passing vehicle stopping to help her, and she dies. An aggravated younger man fights for the rights of his oppressed people. Can he keep them from those who wield electrical energy and weapons? Karnan lives in a downtrodden, long way off village in Southern Tamil Nadu. Communal oppression haunts the town and continues preying on it as unparalleled events distort Karnan’s ordinary life. The great combat that follows Karnan leads his village’s quest for justice and liberation.
