Poppy and Branch learn that they are just one of six Troll tribes spread across six distinct lands, each dedicated to a particular type of music: Funk, Country, Techno, Classical, Pop, and Rock. Their world is about to grow significantly larger and more audible. Queen Barb, a member of hard-rock royalty, intends to kill all other types of music in order for rock to reign supreme, with the help of her father, King Thrash. Poppy and Branch, along with their pals, set out to visit all of the other realms in order to unite the Trolls in harmony against Barb, who is seeking to upstage them all.
