“Linda Linda Linda” is a 2005 Japanese coming-of-age film Directed by Nobuhiro Yamashita. The movie follows the story of a high school girls’ band as they prepare to perform at their school’s cultural festival.
The film centers around four female students: Kei (played by Yu Kashii), Kyoko (played by Aki Maeda), Nozomi (played by Shiori Sekine), and Son (played by Doona Bae). They are classmates who are enlisted by their classmate, Korean exchange student Son, to form a band and cover songs by the Japanese punk rock band “The Blue Hearts” for the upcoming festival.
As they practice together, they navigate the challenges of being in a band, deal with personal issues, and form deep connections with each other. The film beautifully captures the essence of youth, friendship, and the power of music to bring people together.
