Streaming on Amazon Prime Video, Nishabdham, is a Telugu film in which silence could have been used better. Painter Sakshi, who speaks sign language and uses her cell phone text-to-voice translator to have a positive impact, has a protagonist with hearing and speech disability. The investigating police officer Mahalakshmi doubles up as the sutradhar (narrator) as if to fight this, and for a long time, over-simply stuff is made for viewers.
