Cassie, a thirty-something medical school dropout who was characterized by a heinous crime involving her best friend, Nina, knows firsthand that certain wounds never heal. Cassie has found the right way to cope with her traumatic past by staying with her parents and working as a waitress at a cheap coffee shop. Cassie dresses to kill and frequents the nearby bars and nightclubs at night, pretending to be dead drunk, weak, and insecure. Every week, lethally beautiful Cassie is on the hunt for nocturnal predators and other wolves in sheep’s clothing who are unaware that the hunter can often become the prey. Then along comes Ryan, a sweet and loving old classmate who is on the bee’s knees, and Cassie decides she wants out. Breaking bad habits, on the other hand, is a lot easier said than done.
