“Versus” is a 2000 Japanese action-horror film Directed by Ryuhei Kitamura. The movie blends elements of martial arts, gunplay, and supernatural horror in a unique and fast-paced narrative.
The story centers on two escaped convicts, one simply known as Prisoner KSC2-303 (played by Tak Sakaguchi) and the other as a gangster named Yakuza (played by Hideo Sakaki). They find themselves in a mysterious forest known as the Forest of Resurrection, a place rumored to be the battleground for those who have died and returned to life.
As the two convicts face off against each other, they soon realize that they are caught in a never-ending cycle of resurrection and death. The forest seems to have a life of its own, and anyone who dies within it is revived as a zombie-like creature, ready to continue the violent struggle.
