However, once they reach the immigration area of the New York Airport, border agents take them to the secondary inspection room where they will subject them to an uncomfortable inspection and a mentally taxing interrogation.
The official who interviews Elena and Diego reveals facts they haven’t yet revealed with each other or divulged in the prior application procedure, threatening the entire process and their mutual confidence, casting doubt on Elena, Diego, and their dreams over the course of the next few hours.
